As an artist, I am inspired by the evocative powers of the photograph. Fleeting moments, slices of time held captive on paper. The photograph allows us to examine and reflect on the past. My work is about looking. First looking at what is seen, then either taking away the extraneous, or combining images in sequence or repeating images much like the mind’s eye does when we see something that has captured our attention. Much like the singer’s voice or the poet’s words, I use photographic images to construct my art. My desire is to the incite the viewer to see the extraordinary and the marvelous in the ordinary. |
